Ph.D. course in regression techniques
![]() |
The course aims to make Ph.D. students capable of doing regression analyses with survey data, potentially merged with other types of data. The fundamental basis of the course will be ordinary linear regression (OLS) with quantitative variables. In the most basic form of linear regression, this method has some limitations when used in connection with survey data. Therefore, the course will focus on other variants of linear regression as well as logistic regression. Finally, there will be an overview of regression analyses not covered by the course. After finishing the course, Ph.D. students will write a paper in which one or more of the methods are used with the students´ own data. The papers will be commented on afterwards.
The ambition of the course is to enable Ph.D. students to make flexible use of regression techniques and to develop their capacity to make sound interference and interpretations of results.
The course is jointly arranged by The Danish Research School: Welfare State and Diversity, The Finnish Research School: Labour Net, and REASSESS- Nordic Centre Excellence in Welfare Research.
There is no course fee and accommodation and meals in Aalborg are covered by REASSESS.
