Within the framework of Reassessing the Nordic Welfare Model, strand 2 investigates the impact of changes in family life as well as the interplay between family life and the welfare state.
In December 2007 and November 2008 family researchers from the Nordic countries have met in Copenhagen to present current research projects and research interests, and to exchange ideas about future possible themes relevant for exploring, analyzing and understanding the interplay between family life and the welfare state in the Nordic countries.
The aim of this third workshop in November 2009 is to continue the discussions and to investigate the possibilities for research exchange and collaboration around the issues of the strand. Participants are therefore invited to present their research interests and ongoing work within the field. Based on the inputs from the previous meetings some possible themes for the workshop could be:
Family formation - family dissolution
Fertility patterns
Family dissolution and children of divorce
