About ISA:
The International Sociological Association (ISA), a non-profit association for scientific purposes in the field of sociology and social sciences. The ISA was founded in 1949 under the auspices of UNESCO. The goal of the ISA, is to represent sociologists everywhere, regardless of their school of thought, scientific approaches or ideological opinion, and to advance sociological knowledge throughout the world. Its members come from 167 countries.

About RC19:
Research Committee on Poverty, Social Welfare and Social Policy RC19 was established in 1968. The purpose is to promote theoretically grounded empirical research on: the sources and character of social problems; the planning and administration of social programs; and more generally, public policies and intervention strategies aimed at alleviating social problems and influencing the society in that regard (Article I of the Statutes of RC 19). The Committee especially encourages comparative research. Thus, membership to RC19 is open to scholars actively engaged in research and/or teaching on the subjects mentioned above.
