Korpi’s RulesThis format, regularly used at RC 19 Conferences, has made RC19 research meetings famous for their intellectual liveliness and seriousness. The rules are named for Professor Walter Korpi, past President of RC 19:
Practicising these rules require that all papers have been read in advance. Thus, long summaries of the argument are avoided and the emphasis is on the discussion! The author receives more comments and feedback that he/she can use when revising the paper for publication. Participants who have their paper proposal accepted and given a place on the conference programme are expected to make a commitment to completing and posting their paper in time for others to read it. Equally, it expects those attending a session to come prepared by having read the papers to be discussed. Send your completed paper to Mi Ah Schøyen (miah.schoyen@nova.no) for posting on the web site. |
