Migration, minorities

A statement often heard in the public debate is that Norway has become a multicultural society. NOVA is concerned with what this entails in practice. What role is played by traditions from the country of origin in immigrants´ adjustment to Norway? To what extent are such traditions passed on to the next generation? What significance does popular culture have for multicultural youth´s self-knowledge? How does Norwegian officialdom deal with issues related to multiculturality in schools, elderly care and the voluntary sector? These are some of the questions addressed by the migration researchers at NOVA.
